I was really looking forward to the Ride the West tour, a scenic and challenging, fully supported 23-day bicycle tour from Portland, OR to Los Angeles, CA. From the beautiful Oregon Coast, and the majestic Redwoods of Northern CA, to the spectacular ocean views and inland valley roads of Napa Valley, each day was such an adventure - I will never forget this ride!

The tour averaged 62 miles a day (1450 miles total), and we had 2 days off days in Crescent City, OR and San Francisco, CA. The weather was not great to start out, but I stopped as often as I could to record the beauty of our West Coast with my digital camera. Just look at the calendar below - it's loaded with gorgeous scenic views.

This was my ninth long distance bicycle ride to raise funds for the CT Alzheimer's Association. Since 1999, over $125,000 has been raised due to contributions from hundreds of special people: friends, neighbors, colleagues, Pequot Cyclists and community organizations.
