This 670-mile tour launched in Portsmouth, NH and ran down to our nation's capitol, Washington, DC. I had been looking forward to riding the Eastern States since it's close to home. In fact, this was the very first Ride For Alzheimer's ever to go thru Connecticut! I had ended in Portsmouth before, so it was nice to start there for a change.
The hills this year were extreme - some with 18% grades! My training prepared me, but despite being a shorter ride than some previous years, I was glad when we reached DC. The ABB ride continued on to Jacksonville, FL, and I hope they enjoyed good weather on the road.
This was my tenth long distance bicycle ride to raise funds for the CT Alzheimer's Association. Can you believe it??
Since 1999, we've gone over 13,000 miles and more than $150,000 has been raised due to contributions from hundreds of special people: friends, neighbors, colleagues, Pequot Cyclists and community organizations. It all begins with you! Will you help me reach my $20,000 goal for 2008?
