Day 10, 94 miles, Fri, Sept 03, 2010
(my odometer: 96.3 mi, 14.1 avg mph, 6h 48m 36s, max speed 24.4)

Georgetown, SC to Santee SC

Up at 5:00, 6:00 continental breakfast at hotel (Best Western), 7:00 on the road. Today's forecast is for full sun all day, temps in the mid 90’s and 5 to 10 mph winds.

The forecast was right on again. But today there was less of a tree canope and shade across the road. This made it significantly hotter for cycling and for me it was brutal. The length of the rides are shorter for the remainder of this tour: 64,71,78 and 70 miles. We have a day off in Savannah and I plan to do a little sight seeing. Also, I will be having 3 contacts with local Alzheimer's Chapters and the media in Savannah, Jacksonville and a telephone interview with a radio station back in Fredericksburg. The purpose of these contacts is to help them in any way I can to promote awareness of programs they do. I will share more in my blogs in the days ahead.

Tomorrow is a 64 mile ride to Walterboro, SC.
