Travel Day

Up at 5:30 and I was out in the yard to continue to organize and complete my Spring plantings. I needed to get everything in before I left and also finish my packing. My goal was to be on the road to Winchester, VA by 7 AM, and arrive at Tim's (Donna's brother) house by 5PM - a 10 hour drive. I would stay with Tim and Midge, and Monday Tim would drive me to Charlottesville for check in/orientation, and then day 1 cycling would begin on Tuesday.

Well, that didn't happen!

I did get all those things done but didn't get on the road until 10:15. So, I was very late with my start. However, as it turned out I arrived at Tim's at 5:45PM, 465 miles in only 7 ½ hours. Traffic moved along well, no construction, just one shower and Sunday wasn't a traveling day with the long Holiday. Monday would be, I guess.

It was a nice visit. Tim is the Winchester City Planner and he gave me a tour showing me the projects done, presently in progress and future projects in the planning stages. Winchester is a very nice city and place to live.
