Salt Lake City, UT - REST DAY

No alarm or wake up call. I woke up at 6:30, rolled over and went back to sleep (nice feeling) and woke up again at 7:30 and got up. Had the continental breakfast here at Airport Comfort Inn - very special, probably the best continental breakfast I've ever had since 1999 on an ABB ride. Scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, make your pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cold cereal, toast, muffins, juice and coffee.

I spent the day with laundry, computer journal catch up, cleaned bike, lubed chain, did a slide show for cyclists of my photos I've taken and various other odds and ends. Gene and I had lunch here at hotel and we joined George and SandiBeach for dinner tonight. Today is George's birthday so I made a speech in the dining room and had everyone sing "happy birthday". It was fun, George loved it. (see pic)

I'll finish this journal tonight and send it to Ed. Today has been a calm recovery day for all of us. I certainly needed it and feel a lot better today than I did yesterday. Tomorrow is a 64 mile ride to Provo UT, and the weather prediction is sunny and windy. Wind is expected to be from the south (that means headwinds) but the route will be through rural country and residential areas with a lot of turns. The longest our route sheet says we will be one road is for 7.7 miles. This will be a huge change from what we have been doing in recent days.
