6 Day Southeastern CT Tour 2
Groton, New London, Waterford, Montville, Norwich, Preston, Ledyard

Day 6, Friday, August 22, 2014
42.5 miles, 13.3 mph, 3h 10m 32s
Ledyard, Groton, Mystic, Stonington

It rained overnight so the roads were a bit wet but it dried out by 9AM. Today's weather was overcast and cool. No cyclists joined me today so I rode off on my own. This actually turned out pretty good "in a way" because I stopped so often for photos.

The beginning of today's route was down past the Subase to the Avery Point UConn campus. I took several pics of the Coast Guard Academy, Golden Star Bridge, Eastern Point Beach, ocean views, Ledge Light and the UConn campus. All of this is very picturesque and most people around here take it for granted and don't really appreciate what beautiful landmarks are here in southeast CT.

I continued on and up the major hill today, Fort Hill, a very challenging climb and then on through quaint down town Mystic. The ride through Mystic has been part of several of my rides this year.

I continued on and made a brief stop at Mystic Cycle Shop and a chat with some staff, then on to North and South Anguilla roads and home on RT 184.
