8 Day Southeastern CT Tour

Thank You Gathering, Saturday, August 24, 2013, 3 - 5 pm

Today was the day that everyone who made donations to my Alzheimer's cycling effort was invited to my home in Gales Ferry. It is my way of saying "thank you" for their support, and to share information about the Alzheimer's disease, and my 8-day tour of Southeastern CT.

My wife Donna put together a very nice food and beverage buffet. Attendance was light, but everyone enjoyed the event. Eleonora Tornatore-Mikesh, Executive Director of the Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter was a special guest. She spoke about the present and future Alzheimer's disease challenges, and the new and exciting approaches in research. An active question and answer time followed. I also shared some of my cycling stories, and spoke about the training necessary for a cyclist to successfully prepare and complete a long distance, consecutive-day riding tour.
