Today's ride was supposed to be done tomorrow, but the forecast for tomorrow was for rain, so I chose to do tomorrow's ride today and use tomorrow as a 'Rest Day.' The weather today was exceptional! A great start to my 2013 RFA ride. It was sunny, no humidity and a gentle breeze. We have a new 'alarm clock,' a new puppy ( Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso and Schnauzer). We got her at 8 weeks old and now the training needs to take place. She woke us up at 6AM., several times during the night also. Points of interest today was the Mystic River, downtown Mystic, Stonington Borough, Stonington Point and the scenic countryside along the way.

Today's ride began and ended at the Groton Board of Ed building on Flanders Rd. I was home for lunch and then Donna and I spent the afternoon 'car riding' one of the longer rides I had planned for later in the Tour. This is necessary to confirm street signs, distances between turns, possible detours and washed out roads, road closures, etc.

I've included in today's journal, the 'cue sheet' for today, so those of you that may be wondering what a 'cue sheet' looks like, here it is - FYI - Some of my ride cue sheets also includes 'distance between turns,' this one does not.

The Pequot Cyclists Newsletter has published my ride itinerary for two months, so I am hopeful that some members will join me on some of my rides. Tomorrow will be a rest day.
